Decarbonisation - Delivering Retrofit at scale

Hull City Council and Fortem are delivering Europe’s largest Fabric First, External Wall Insulation (EWI) programme to support the decarbonisation agenda.

Nicholas Harne, Assistant Director of Neighbourhoods and Housing said: “Our retrofit programme has and continues to meet the objectives of lowering fuel poverty, improving energy efficiency, and supporting the decarbonisation agenda, delivering a home that is comfortable, affordable and of a higher quality for our residents.”

Ben Jenkinson, Contracts Manager at Fortem adds: “Since 2016 we have improved over 2,000 homes with 80% of trades coming from the local area. The homes are now warmer and have been aesthetically transformed which has improved the living experience of residents and created a renewed sense of pride in homes.

As we move into the final phase of the programme join us in the Knowledge Theatre on Wednesday 8th September at 10.30am for an insightful journey of learning shaped by local economic drivers, managing customer expectations, changes in codes of practice (PAS:2035) and complex funding stream requirements.”
