Sarah Webb Sarah Webb, Chief Executive CIH

What a fantastic conference – our delegates contributed throughout the event to a great Housing PACT – our ‘ask’ of Grant Shapps and our ‘offer’ from the sector to work with his new Government on the key challenges ahead. I presented the headlines from the PACT to Grant on the final day of the conference and feedback from delegates has been overwhelming. Read my speech here and look out for the formal PACT document in a couple of weeks.

Grant Shapps

In his first major presentation to the sector since appointment as Minister for Housing and Local Government, The Rt Hon Grant Shapps MP spoke at the conference on Thursday 24 June.

After touring the exhibition on Thursday morning and speaking with a wide range of representatives from the industry, the Minister was presented with “Housing Pact” at 2:15 on Thursday in the main auditorium.

Acknowledging Harrogate as the biggest gathering of the social housing sector in the calendar, he then delivered a short speech and spent the rest of the session taking open questions from the audience in what was a very well received and thought-provoking session.
