Rising Stars

About the Competition
In Spring 2011, the CIH, in partnership with Inside Housing, launched their search for today’s rising stars and tomorrow’s sector leaders with the inaugural Rising Stars competition. By the time of the Annual Conference the entrants had been whittled down to five finalists who then went through a series of heats during the conference, with conference delegates voting to find the winner on the final afternoon: Carla Keegans, Head of Involvement and Policy at City of London Corporation.
The overwhelming success of the competition has convinced us to make it an annual feature of the housing year and in 2012 and this year we intend to make it even bigger and better!
The search for 2012’s Rising Star begins on the 24th of February.
This unique competition will showcase talented individuals and promotes the sector leaders of the future. It provides a great platform to:
- celebrate the great work of housing professionals
- recognise and nurture existing and future talent
- support professional development
- drive innovation and thought leadership
How do I enter?
The process is really simple; we just need you to follow the steps:
Step 1: is the task – we’d like you to write a 500 word piece for Inside Housing which discusses the following: “It’s 2015 and you’re the new housing minister. What’s in your first green paper?”
Step 2: “Ask your organisation to support your application - finalists must be available to attend the conference on the evening of 11 June through to 14 June and are therefore likely to incur travel and accommodation costs which must be borne by their employer.”
Step 3: “Submit your article at www.cih.org/risingstars by 30 March 2012”
How will the judging work?
An group of expert judges will decide our 5 finalists at a panel meeting at the end of April and these finalists will be notified in early May
